Dementia Caregivers: Stronger Together™ by NeuraHeal, LLC

My journey into dementia care began when my husband was diagnosed with vascular dementia following multiple strokes. At that time, I received no specialized referrals or coordinated guidance—only a vague directive to “wait and see.” Like many caregivers, I was left to manage on my own, navigating unfamiliar systems, sorting through scattered resources, and making critical decisions without support.

Determined to help him recover and live with dignity, I educated myself—digging into research, connecting with experts, and learning everything I could about dementia care. This personal mission became a professional calling. Today, I am a doctoral researcher at Purdue University, where my work focuses on how software can be used to support the care and management of dementia.

Recognizing the urgent need for caregiver-centered tools, I founded NeuraHeal, LLC, and we are developing the Dementia Caregivers: Stronger Together™ app—a practical, easy-to-use resource designed to empower caregivers through every stage of the dementia journey.

The Urgent Need for Better Caregiver Support

In 2024, an estimated 6.9 million Americans aged 65 and older were living with Alzheimer’s disease—approximately 1 in 9 people in this age group. Each year, over 900,000 individuals are newly diagnosed (Alzheimer’s Association, 2024). These figures do not include the many others living with different forms of dementia. The need for informed, accessible, and coordinated caregiving support is more pressing than ever.

Support Designed for Caregivers, Not Just Patients

Dementia Caregivers: Stronger Together™ offers tailored guidance and tools based on two key factors: the caregiver’s level of experience and the dementia stage of the individual in their care. Whether you’re navigating a recent diagnosis or managing advanced dementia care, the app delivers relevant, real-world support when and where it’s needed.

We serve:

• At-home caregivers looking for stage-specific guidance, day-to-day support tools, stress management, and help coordinating care

• Distant caregivers, such as adult children supporting a loved one living independently or in a facility, with shared updates, calendars, and caregiver collaboration

• Professional caregivers in senior living communities who need tools for shift handoffs, family communication, stress management, and consistent, quality care delivery

Beyond Medical Care: Real-Life Resources for Real-Life Challenges

Dementia Caregivers: Stronger Together™ addresses caregiving holistically. In addition to support for care coordination and cognitive monitoring, the platform will include a robust library of non-medical resources that help caregivers manage the legal, financial, and emotional aspects that often arise.

Caregivers can access:

• Information about power of attorney, advance directives, and financial planning

• Planning tools for appointments, medications, lab work, and supplements

• Tips for managing caregiver stress, family dynamics, and daily routines

• Community connections through forums, peer support, and shared learning

• Guidance tailored to both the caregiver’s experience level and the dementia progression of their loved one

This is not just a tool—it’s a trusted companion that helps caregivers feel less alone, better prepared, and more confident in their role.

Built from Experience, Strengthened by Research

Dementia Caregivers: Stronger Together™ is informed by both personal experience and academic research. Our development is guided by a team of expert advisors in dementia care, software development, and patient advocacy. We are committed to ensuring the app is practical, respectful, and responsive to the needs of all caregivers—whether they are family members, professionals, or advocates.

Caregiving for someone with dementia is a path no one should walk alone. With Dementia Caregivers: Stronger Together™, you don’t have to.
